ROCKLAND: The Maine Lobster Festival, held every year the first week of August on the waterfront in Rockland, was recently named one of the five best fairs and festivals in the United States by NBC's "Today" Show.

The 65th annual Maine Lobster Festival takes place Wednesday through Sunday, August 1-5, 2012.

The focus of the festival is fresh, hot, Maine lobster! Enjoy your lobster dinner under the Main Eating Tent while enjoying a view of Penobscot Bay. What could be better on a warm August day? During the 2008 Lobster Festival, more than 20,000 pounds of luscious lobster was prepared in their brand new cooker on the shore.

Besides great food, enjoy all the festival has to...
