University College at Rockland is an outreach center of the University of Maine System, providing college courses, degrees and certificate programs. Using traditional, on-site instruction plus various distance education technologies,”URock” offers more than 400 college courses each semester and serves over 600 students. We are also home to Coastal Senior College which provides social and intellectual opportunities for local seniors.

Hope Elephants will be a unique rehabilitation and educational facility for retired elephants in Hope, Maine. Elephants will receive state-of-the-art physical therapy in a loving, safe, and comfortable environment. School children and children of all ages will experience elephants in a way unavailable anywhere else in the country. They will be inspired to find their own path to participate in wildlife conservation.

Trekkers is a nonprofit, outdoor-based mentoring program that connects young people to caring adults through expeditionary learning, community service and adventure-based education. Engaging adult volunteers from the community, Trekkers provides educational, experiential and cross-cultural opportunities for young people, emphasizing relationship building and the earth as educator. Students join in 7th grade and participate in an educational expedition each year until high school graduation.

WCS offers a hands-on, multidimensional experience that provides practical skills useful in a resource-scarce world. From learning about sustainable food production on local farms to foraging for wild mushrooms to be prepared in a feast, WCS will help participants define a new personal philosophy.

The Five Town CSD administers education to students in grades 9-12 from Appleton, Camden, Hope, Lincolnville, and Rockport at its Camden Hills Regional High School campus. Community and adult education is also provided for all five towns at this site.

A school for traditional wooden boatbuilding and seamanship. Offering year-round adult shop programs ranging from one-day workshops, weekend skills courses, and 12-week intensive boatbuilding to full-time, two-year apprenticeships.
