About the Chamber

Formed on August 1, 2011 through the consolidation of the Camden-Rockport-Lincolnville Chamber combined forces with the Rockland-Thomaston Area Chamber, the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce is the voice of business in Knox, Waldo, and northern Lincoln counties.

The 4th largest chamber in the state of Maine (and the largest chamber representing smaller, coastal communities), the PBRCC is also one of the largest membership-driven community organizations in the area. The Chamber represents the coming together of businesses, non-profits, government, and citizens in support of a vibrant and growing region with unparalleled quality of life and quality of place.

Sincerely,
Dan Bookham, Executive Director, March 1, 2012.

Vision Statement

The continuing goal of the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce is to become, and remain, an influential leader for the benefit of our communities and membership. To accomplish this, we will seek to:

* Promote and serve the interests of local businesses, non-profits, and community groups by providing the support, services, and information that enable them to prosper.

* Make ourselves a financially stable business with a professional staff devoted to developing appropriate new programs and services and to providing them in a cheerful, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

* Remain at all times a vital part of the community, maintaining a positive, high profile; speaking for our members and representing their interests locally, regionally, and statewide.

* Stay mindful in all our endeavors of balancing the area's business growth and development with its natural attributes, heritage, and exceptional quality of life.

Mission Statement

The Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit membership association that seeks to promote the interests of business and encourage economic development, while functioning in a manner that is compatible with the environment, protects natural and cultural resources, and sustains the heritage of the communities it serves.
