How to Get Here
Located on Maine's scenic Midcoast, about equidistant from Portland and Bangor and about 100 miles from the Moosehead and Acadia regions, the Camden-Rockland area is easy to find.
Via public transportation: Major airlines serve Portland (PWM) and Bangor (BGR) airports. Daily commercial service via Cape Air is also available from Boston to Knox County Airport (RKD), at Owls Head adjacent to Rockland.
With a flight time of about an hour, Cape Air is located in Logan’s Terminal C, just steps away from Jet Blue Airways, which offers nonstop service to Boston from 27 cites. In addition, Cape Air has ticket and baggage agreements with most major airlines so you can check your bags and find them waiting for you at Owls Head. Driving from Boston, MA (200 miles, 3 1/2 to 4 hours): Take I-95 North to Exit 44 (I-295, South Portland, Maine).
Driving from Portland/South Portland, ME (85 miles, 1 3/4 hours): Take I-295 North to Brunswick (exit 28) to pick up U.S. Route 1 North. To reach our Rocjkland visitors' center, follow Route 1 into downtown. At the traffic light at Main Street, go straight (cross Main Street) onto Park Drive. Our visitors' center is one short block ahead on the right, in the same building as the Maine Lighthouse Museum. For a shortcut to Camden, exit Route 1 for Route 90 just north of Waldoboro. Route 90 meets Route 1 again in Rockport. To reach our Camden visitors' center, take Route 1 North into Camden and go one short block east to the harbor and the Public Landing.
Driving from Bangor, ME (54 miles, 1 1/2 hours): Take I-295 south to Route 1A South to Route 1 South.
Driving from Fryeburg, ME (137 miles, 3 to 3 1/4 hours): Follow U.S. Route 302 East to U.S. Route 202 at the Windham rotary. Take Route 202 North to I-95 in Gray. Take I-95 North (Maine Turnpike, toll applies) to Exit 109-B, Route 17 East, in Augusta. Follow Route 17 East to Route 90 in West Rockport. Turn left and follow Route 90 until it meets with U.S. Route 1 in Rockport, just south of Camden. For Thomaston-Rockland traffic stay on Route 17 into Rockland and pick up U.S. Route 1.

By Boat: You will find us in the heart of spectacular Penobscot Bay at 44°12'4.918" N, 69°2'55.891" W (Curtis Island Light, Camden) and 44°06'14.55" N, 69°04'39.16" W (Rockland Breakwater), both NOAA chart #13305.
By Train: Travel to Maine's coastal attractions via Maine Eastern Railroad's Midcoast excursion service between Brunswick and Rockland. You can travel along the scenic coastline avoiding Route 1 traffic, while enjoying comfortable coaches and taking in the beauty of Maine's Midcoast from the picture windows.
Train stations are located in Brunswick, Bath, Wiscasset, and Rockland. From the Rockland platform, you are within walking distance to harbor cruises, shopping, restaurants, and museums. Fine lodging is also available throughout the region. Passengers ride in comfort aboard climate-controlled, beautifully appointed railcars. The relaxing journey between Brunswick and Rockland takes approximately two hours.
